For many students, taking exams can be a very stressful and anxious time. It can also be very stressful for parents to. The right preparation before the exams is so important. Often maths revision courses can prove very helpful.

There are numerous maths revision courses that take place up and down the country in the lead up to the January and May / June summer exams. So if you are still struggling with your maths or any other subject at GCSE or AS and A-level then a course may help you get the required grades you need to study A-Level or go to university.

Expect most courses to be taught by a qualified teacher in your subject and who is familiar with your exam board. I would suggest you check this out with the admissions staff before signing up on a course. I would see what they intend to cover, will they do past paper questions specific to your examination board?

The centres are normally schools which are hired out for the duration of the holiday periods or at weekends. Some of the bigger schools and colleges may well have additional facilities for recreational activities that you can use after a hard days study. Worth checking out.

Tuition is normally in small groups but expect it to be quite intensive.

Some centres have residential facilities so that you can stay overnight or during the period of the course.

Expect to pay upwards of £300 per day for a single course at some of the top revision centres where you will be in small groups. Also be aware there are some centres who also offer an excellent service for larger groups. If a refresher on all the major topics with focus on exam questions is what you need this is worth considering as the prices are much more affordable. The amount of individual 1 to 1 help you require should really be the deciding factor.
